It's Been One Year

Damn. I just read all of my old posts and they weren't that bad. Just some spelling and grammatical errors. I'm going to write shit up again after my midterms.

VP Debates

Yeah, I'm a little late on this one. But I wanted to throw my TV out the window when both of them were saying how much passion they have for Israel. That sort of love for Israel should get you thrown into jail. I don't want a president with loyalties to two countries. It's a bit treasonous. The comment on how Pakistani nukes can reach Israel (which they cannot) by Biden was stupid and made no sense. He went onto say how Hezbollah is an established political party because of no NATO intervention in Lebanon, which means he wants to deny certain groups a chance to legitimately run for office. No talk about the rape and pillaging of Somalia bu US-backed Ethiopian forces and how that's much more of a danger to our country than a nuclear Iran or unstable Pakistan.

Cuban Missile Crisis II: Venezuela

Coming soon to a theater near you!

And you thought the Cold War was over?

Synopisis: After the US-backed Georgian dictator Mikhail Sakashvilli fails in his attempt to reconquer the breakaway regions of Abkhazia and South Ossetia and in the process kills Russian troops in those areas, Russia gets pissed. After dealing with Sakashvilli, they turn their attention to the US. Hoping to scare them, they talk about nuclear cooperation with US' sworn enemy in South America, Venezuela. What will happen? Wait and see!

Observations

A lot has been going on in the country and my city over the past few weeks. Some observations and notes from New York over the last week:

-I was on my way to a Campaign for Liberty meeting and met up with a friend of mine on Tuesday on the way there. He was telling me he saw that Recep Tayyip Erdogan, PM of Turkey, had a police escort, traffic on 42nd St. blocked off for him and was quickly rushed into the hotel. And some messenger on a bicycle started going faster after he saw the escort and had a mean look on his face and started chasing after the convoy. Not sure what happened to him, but probably not a terrorist.

-There was a protest against the bailouts today outside the NYSE. Sooooooooo many socialists and communists, I was one of maybe three libertarians. I had an "End The Fed" sign. I started a small chant for it, some guy looked really into it and started standing next to me on the steps with my sign. Good for him! There was one guy handing out stuff for the Campaign for Liberty and handing out a transcript of a Ron Paul speech he gace to Congress back in 2002 about the housing bubble and why government involvement will make it burst. I don't know how many people fullt understood that (I know I didn't understand some of it). A lot of it was just "BLAME WALL STREET!!! FUCK CORPORATIONS!!!" What about the government???

-No one likes the bailouts. I haven't met a single person who's supporting this.

-Hofstra anyone? Maybe I should take the LIRR over to the Hofstra campus to protest outside the debates on the 15th.

Palin and Islamophobia

Palin wants to draft kids into the military to fight the big bad bear! Remember, we have to protect democracy worldwide! Even if those democratic leaders beat up protesters on the street and close down opposition media!

Muslims want to kill us with their jihads! Even though suicide bombing has been used as a tactic by communist and nationalist groups worldwide, it's strictly an Islamic thing! Them Mooslams must have taught those commies! But in all seriousness, you want to consult a bigot like David Horowitz for a documentary on Islamic Extremism? Please, please, please, consult someone who has met with these sort of groups such as Chris Hedges. I was watching him on an al-Jazeera English program about the roots of al-Qaeda and Islamic Extremism and he really knows what he's talking about.

BTW: I don't really read the Huffington Post, but this caught my attention on Islamophobia Watch.

Now Is The Time...

TO VOTE THIRD-PARTY!

Ron Paul held a press conference today endorsing all the third-party candidates as they have all agreed on these fundamental issues. Ralph Nader, Cynthia McKinney, and Chuck Baldwin were in attendance, with Bob Barr not making appearance as it was, "not just worth it...", because he is officially a jerk! Now he's trying to kiss up to Ron Paul supporters again by asking Ron Paul to run as the Libertarian VP.

So I'm supporting Nader now. I don't really agree with his policy on taxation or affirmative action. But I do agree with him on a number of issues, such as foreign policy, spending, civil liberties, immigration, the Federal Reserve, education, and the National Initiative would be sort of nifty (Mike Gravel is a huge supporter of it).

This is a transcript of Ron Paul's speech.

So remember, no matter who it is, vote third-party!

Textbooks Lie

My Government Honors textbook was telling me why our foreign policy is necessary and that it basically has no flaws. Hazzah! Government indoctrination sessions!

I officially hate Hardball. We're made to watch that greuling show for like fifteen minutes during class as the yap about the latest polls. GET TO THE ISSUES!

Will Ron Paul run as a third-party candidate? I hope so!
